Election Commission regulations should be strictly followed for completion of works

Chief Electoral Officer of the State Vikas Raj advised the officials to strictly follow the rules of the Election Commission and complete the specified election works on time.

Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj from Hyderabad on 26.04.2023 said the Joint Chief Electoral Officer together with Ravi Kiran, the District Collectors and Additional Collectors conducted FLC, PET cancellation in the voter list, issuance of voter epic cards, etc.

District Additional Collector N Khemya Naik and RDOs participated in this video conference from the video conference hall of the integrated district office complex.

State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj said that proposals for appointment of Returning Officers for assembly constituencies in the district should be sent within three days in the prescribed format as per the rules of the Election Commission. He said that the FLC of EVMs and VVPyats should be conducted in the month of June, and the FLC should be completed by providing advance information to the political parties and conducting video recording. He said that a nodal officer should be appointed from each district to procure the necessary supplies for the maintenance of FLC. He said that the proposals for the appointment of state level and district level master trainers to provide training to employees and staff for the conduct of elections should be submitted by the end of April.

He inquired about the details of the votes deleted under the photo similar entry, the details of the votes deleted from the voter list and the district wise details on the progress of scrutiny. He suggested that a weekly meeting of representatives of political parties should be held within each assembly constituency in the district and the minutes should be recorded online.

According to the instructions of the Election Commission, a supplementary voter list should be released giving the right to vote to those who have completed 18 years of age by April 1st 2023, and the applications received in the district should be investigated at the field level and registered as voters.

He said that keeping in mind the past experiences in the district, a plan should be prepared to organize voter importance programs innovatively in areas where voting is low and special attention should be paid for sweep activities in urban areas of the district. He said that a special nodal officer should be appointed for conducting sweep activities.

He said that social media teams should be appointed in the office of the District Election Officer so that false campaigns on social media that create doubts about the electoral system can be countered in time. He said that the EROs should take special measures to ensure that every booth level officer must log in the Garuda app. Chief Electoral Officer of the state Vikas Raj said that there are more than 6 voters in 7.6 lakh houses across the state, booth level officials should check the field level and check again.

After the video meeting with the officials, District Additional Collector N Khemya Naik gave several instructions to RDOs, Sirisilla, Vemulawada Tehsildars Vijay Kumar, Raju and Elections Sub Tehsildar Rahman on the list of voters.

The Collector said that a meeting of the representatives of the political parties should be held every Saturday within the Assembly Constituency to explain the changes in the voter list and the instructions of the Election Commission.
