Good initiative “Computer Champs”

RSD- Sircilla News: Minister KTR, who is constantly working to keep Telangana at the top in the country in the field of information technology, has designed this computer champs with the hope that rural students, especially those studying in government schools, should not lag behind in digital literacy, and that they should rise to the level of competing with students studying in corporate schools and cities.

District Collector Anurag Jayanthi planned this Computer Champs program based on KTR’s ideology . District Collector Anurag Jayanthi held a discussion with JNTU Rajanna Sircilla officials that taking the cooperation of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-JNTU, which is at the forefront of identifying modern trends in the field of computer science and promoting innovation in the field of modern science and technology research, would be beneficial to the students in view of the suggestions made by minister KTR to advance the students in computer literacy by using locally available resources. Computer Champs program has been designed under the district education department and intiated in this academic year.

According to psychology, it is proved that students learn languages easily at primary level, secondary level and higher level skills can be learnt.
It is determined that the study skills of the students should be tailored to the science of psychology.

60 selected government schools in Rajannasircilla district have started the program experimentally in this academic year with the intention of providing digital literacy to about 12823 students studying in Zilla Parishad High Schools, Model Schools, Kasturiba Girls’ Vidyalayas. Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University Rajannasircilla District will provide full technical support for this. First the teachers were trained and then they were provided with teaching and learning manuals.By this teachers will teach these concepts easily in their schools.

In this computer champs programme
Fundamentals of Computer, History of Computer, Paint, Notepad and Typing Practice, Introduction of MS Office, MS Word Project, MS Excel Basics, MS Power Point Presentation, Internet Operation and Cyber Security etc. are taught to the students. These will become the minimum requirements for the coming generations.

Domestic Indicators
PGI-Districts known as Performance Grade Index-Districts.
The Central Education Department releases these PGI-D indicators following 70 indicators with 1000 points based on the summative evaluation of all the state and Union Territories government schools across the country. The Central Education Department collects this information through the Unified District Information System for School Education UDISE-UDISE.
Schools are classified as Daksha, Utkarsha, Ati Uttam, Uttam, Prachesta1, Prachesta 2, Akanksha1, Akanksha2, Akanksha3. So far these reports have been released in the years 2017,2018,2019,2020,2021. According to the latest report, 13 districts of the state are in the best category. KTR is trying to make Telangana a digital Telangana by working hard to make all the districts reach the Daksha category.

The district education officer Ramesh and the teachers says that they will work tirelessly to achieve this target chosen by the district administration. Parents are happy because of teaching computer education in government schools.
Let’s hope that Telangana will be at the forefront of digital literacy by creating a similar program across the state to make this program a success.
