Indefinite strike of ration dealers from 5th June 2023

Due to non provision of minimum respectable salary as per central government rule to the ration dealers by the State government, the ration dealers have decided to go for indefinite strike from 5th June 2023 onwards. It is said by the ration dealers that we are unable to live with very low commission and could not even leave the dealership as we are running the ration shops by taking high finances. We donot have any improvement in lifestyle, not even have medical security, work security, and even we are baring the charges for the unloading of ration which was mentioned in labour act.

It is said that the rice coming from M.L.C point have irregularities such as per each bag 1 to 3 Kgs rice is lesser than the required quantity when weighed. This is causing lot of mental burden as we need to deal with it as it already came to our ration shops, some ration dealers have committed suicide due to this mental pressure.

It is requested to CM KCR, Civil supplies minister gangula Kamalakar and Civil Supplies chairman Sardar Ravinder that ration dealers should be given a minimum of 30 thousand rupees respectable salary.

Ration dealers main requests:

  1. Minimum respectable salary of 30 thousand should be provided for the ratrion dealers and the ration dealers belonging to towns should be given 35 to 40 thousand respectable salary.
    1. Commission is not given from past 3 months which is causing problem for our livelihood so please release that 3 months commission amount.
    1. Regarding 30 thousand rupees salary, through Ikyavediaka we have submitted our request to 5 member minister committee but till now no answer for it.
    1. Please do not put cases as per the 6/A , by vigilance department when 3 to 4 Kgs of rice is found lesser in the rice bags. It is to be noted that the 3 to 4 Kgs less rice in rice bags are coming from godowns directly to the ration shops in each state. It is suggested that to send the rice after weighing it.
    1. If a ration dealers death happens, 20 to 30 thousand should be given to their families as a part of death rituals immediately.
    1. Authorization renewals should be increased to 5 years from 2 years or it will be better if permentantly given without any renewals.
    1. The price of jute bags/ gunny bags should be increased to Rs.30 per bag.
    1. For every 3 or 6 months, with all districts presidents and secretaries a compulsory meeting have to be arranged to solve the ration dealers problems.
    1. It is requested to allocate group insurance.
    1. Ration shops should be recognized as mini super markets and more types of groceries have to be made available to sell.
    1. Unloading charges of Rs. 10 per quintal on ration groceries, government have to bare it.
    1. In villages ration shops more than 800 cards and in towns more than 1200 cards having ration shops should only be divided.
    1. Central government has increased the commission for ration dealers which is not given by the State governemnent. It should be provided.
    1. We should be given all due amounts for which we are eligible.
    1. Monthly groceries should be sent to the ration shops by 1st of every month.
    1. The age limit of people recruited under Karunya has to be increased from 40 to 50 years.
    1. Among the ration dealers who have higher education should be provided with departmental promotions and utilize their services.
    1. The temporary dealers who are running the ration shops from past five years should be given authorization and regularise them.
    1. Wheat grains have to be provided throughout the ration shops in the State.
    1. It is requested to provide 1000 sft land to construct Ration Bhavan at Hyderabad and 500 sft land for constructing Ration Bhavan at district centrers.

After submission of the demands,it is said that on 22nd May 2023 a meeting will be conducted with ration dealers sangh to look into the main problems mentioned above by the government. And government requested not to go for indefinite strike said by Gangula Kamalakar Minister of Civil Supplies Telangana State.
