RSD-New Delhi: The liquor scam in the national capital Delhi is creating a political stir. It is already known that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with former Telangana CM KCR’s daughter and BRS MLC Kavitha have been arrested in this case. Kavitha, who is currently a remand prisoner in Tihar Jail, has been arrested once again. Kavitha, who is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate, was recently arrested by the CBI. What is the actual liquor case: Aam Aadmi Party is currently in power in New Delhi, the capital of the country.Arvind Kejriwal is the Chief Minister. After coming to power, the AAP government brought a new liquor policy in Delhi. According to this policy, the retail sale of liquor should be carried out by licensed private persons and not by the government. Due to this, the revenue of Delhi government increased significantly. However, Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar’s allegations that there were huge irregularities in this liquor policy caused an uproar. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered a CBI inquiry into the liquor policy issue. Kejriwal’s government, which backed down from this, withdrew the new liquor policy.

CBI investigation: Kejriwal’s government backed down on the new liquor policy, but the CBI investigation continued. In this order, the names of the leaders of the Delhi government and the South Group came out. Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia along with the names of political and business leaders from Telugu states have come out. South group BRS leader Kavitha, YCP leader Magunta Srinivasulu, Aurobindo Pharma owner Sarath Reddy and some others have been found to be associated with the Delhi Liquor scam. CBI interrogated Delhi CM along with Deputy CM, MLC Kavitha and many others.

ED Probe: Enforcement Directorate stepped in after finding financial irregularities in the Delhi Liquor Scam. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was arrested by the ED after conducting an in-depth investigation. Recently, Delhi CM Kejriwal and former Telangana CM’s daughter Kavitha was arrested. Both of them are remanded in jail after being remanded by the court. ED arrested BRS MLC Kavitha, PA Buchibabu and collected vital information from them. Having become an approver, Buchibabu confirmed that Kavita has a role in this liquor policy. On behalf of Kavitha, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Magunta Raghava and Sarath Reddy of this South Group, Arun Pillai, Abhishek Boinipalli and Buchibabu consulted with the Delhi government leaders. The ED found in the investigation that they had negotiated a deal with AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Vijay Nair. In 2022, a meeting was held at MLC Kavitha’s residence regarding this liquor policy. In this order, Kavitha signed an agreement with the AAP leaders on the share of Indo Spirit. ED found that this share was given to her as  Rs. 100 crores.

Kavitha Arrest : After a lengthy investigation, the ED has recently arrested Kavitha after identifying her role in the Delhi Liquor Scam. After that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was also arrested. Kavitha was produced in the court and remanded to Tihar Jail. Kavita approached the Supreme Court for bail, but it was rejected. The Supreme Court has suggested that they cannot grant bail as it should be decided in the trial court itself. The Supreme Court also directed the trial court to hear Kavitha’s bail petition without delay. The CBI gave a shock to Kavitha who was trying to get bail. CBI arrested her in Tihar Jail. CBI officials will interrogate Kavitha in the same jail. CBI has issued a statement regarding Kavita’s arrest. Kavitha will be shifted from the jail to the CBI headquarters and will be produced in the court on 12.04.2024.
