Malkapeta Reservoir trial run successful
NOB –Malkapeta news: Malkapeta Reservoir of 3 TMC capacity completed as a part of package-9 in Malkapeta village of Konaraopeta Mandal of Vemulawada Constituency has been successfully trial run. Officials have been working day and night at the field level for a fortnight to undertake the trial run of Malkapeta Reservoir as per the directives of Minister KTR. Coordinating all the departments, the motors were started in the pump house and the Godavari waters were lifted into the Malkapet reservoir at exactly 07.00 A.M on 23.05.2023 morning.
Engineer-in-Chief N. Venkateswarlu, lifting consultant Penta Reddy, representatives of MRKR and WPL agencies closely supervised the trial run works. District Collector Anurag Jayanthi has directed the authorities to conduct the trial run smoothly. With the construction of Malkapeta reservoir, 60,000 new irrigation land will be irrigated and 26,150 acres of irrigation will be stabilized. With the construction of Malkapeta Reservoir, a permanent solution to the irrigation problems faced by the farmers in Vemulawada and Sircilla constituencies will be provided. Waste lands will become green. Malkapeta Reservoir which was undertaken with Rs.504 crores will start soon.
