Prescribed medical services should be made available to the public

RSD – Jagityala news: On 23.05.2023, the State Medical and Health Minister Tanniru Harish Rao along with the state level medical department officials reviewed the medical services provided to the people in the districts with the district collectors and medical and health department officials through a video conference from Hyderabad.

State Health Minister Tanniru Harish Rao said that the government will implement the KCR Nutrition Kit scheme to solve the problem of anemia among pregnant women. In the first phase, this program has been implemented in 9 districts across the state and now it is being extended to the remaining 24 districts. The Minister said that KCR Nutrition Kit is useful for the health of the unborn child and care of the mother, every pregnant woman will be provided with KCR Nutrition Kit twice, and the KCR Nutrition Kit scheme should be launched during the birth anniversary celebrations of the state. The minister said that during 3rd ANC registration, nutrition kit will be given to pregnant women 2 times, and 111 centers across the state have been reminded to make necessary arrangements for the distribution of nutrition kits there, and this will provide a permanent solution to the problem of anemia. The minister said that the KCR kit scheme has achieved excellent results in the state, that it has stood at the 3rd position in the country in controlling MMR and IMR rates, Telangana is the only state where 100% institutional deliveries are taking place, and hoped that KCR nutrition kit will also achieve good results.

Officials explained that 2038 new primary health center sub-centres have been sanctioned across the state, 422 sub-centre construction works have been completed, another 177 works are in the final stage and 610 construction works are in various stages. The minister said that the land allocation for 63 sub center buildings in the state has not been done, the collector should pay attention to this and select the lands available to the people in the villages and allocate the sub centers, funds have been released to the district public councils and municipalities in urban areas in advance for the construction of the sub center, and another 400 crore funds will be released within a week. As there is no problem of funding for the construction of the sub center building, the minister ordered that the tender process of 766 sub centers should be finalized and the work started quickly, the sub centers should be constructed quickly and made available to the people, and the collectors should conduct frequent reviews on the progress of the construction of the sub centers.

The minister asked the officials to complete the newly sanctioned primary health center buildings, urban dispensaries, rural dispensaries and diagnostic hubs to the districts soon and make them available to the people. The minister said that the government has decided to establish 3208 rural clinics across the state to provide medical services to the people in the rural areas, in which 2995 mild level health providers have already been appointed and 211 vacant posts need to be filled at the district level.

1141 BAMS candidates selected under MLHP should be given bridge course training for 6 months, out of which 708 candidates have completed their training so far, 201 candidates are undergoing training process and as the Kanti Velugu program has come to the final stage, the rest of the candidates will also be given bridge course. The Minister congratulated the Collectors and medical staff for successfully conducting eye examinations for one and a half crore people across the state in 80 working days without any untoward incident. The minister said that 1.5 crore people have been examined in the state and reading glasses have been distributed to 21.4 lakh people and prescription glasses to 17.08 lakh people.The minister suggested that the staff nurses, ANMs, and medical officers in the 737 teams that have completed the target of Kanti Velugu should be sent to work in hospitals, and data entry operators and ophthalmologists should be attached to the remaining Kanti Velugu teams and conduct examinations for the public more widely. The minister suggested that the medical officers should pay attention to the CPR training and conduct the CPR training program as per the set target.

The minister advised that there will be intense sun for another 15 days across the state, necessary instructions should be given to prevent people from getting sunburned due to the sun, and the employers guarantee that workers should take necessary precautions while working.District Collector Sheikh Yasmin Bhasha, who participated in the video meeting, said that the tender for the construction of the primary health center, sub-centre in the district will be completed and construction will be started soon, and dispensaries will be opened and services will be provided to the people.In this video conference, Additional District Collector B.S.Latha, District Health Officer Dr., District Hospital Superintendent Dr. and other concerned officials participated.
