Operation Smile successful says SP Mahesh B.Gite
RSD- Sircilla news: On this occasion, District SP Mahesh B. Gite IPS said that the Central Government conducts programs like Operation Smile and Operation Muskan twice a year to eradicate child labor, identify missing children, and reunite them with their parents. As part of this, to ensure the success of Operation Smile in the district, from January 1st to 31st of 2026 year, teams were formed in the district with officials from the Police Department, Child Welfare Committee, Labor Department, Education Department, District Child Protection Department, Revenue, and Health Departments, along with identifying non-governmental organizations. Extensive inspections were conducted, and 52 children were identified across the district and reunited with their parents. He added that 4 cases have been registered against those employing and making children under 18 years of age work. He said that it is everyone’s responsibility to protect the rights of children and urged everyone to work responsibly towards the eradication of child labor. He stated that those who frequently employ children for work will be identified and cases will be registered against them. He advised people to inform the local police when they see street children. The District SP specially congratulated the officers of all the departments who cooperated in making Operation Smile a success.
