Police nabbed interstate chain thief
RSD- Mahabubabad news: According to the instructions of District SP Sudhir Ram Nath Kekan IPS, Chennaiah Addl SP. Mahbubabad Town and CCS police formed in 4 teams under the supervision of Mahbubabad DSP N, Tirupathi Rao and on 18.10.2024 at 06:00 hrs while checking the vehicles, a person suspected on hero splendor from Bayyaram side to Mahabubabad near Illandu Road Aarti Garden, when the police saw them coming on the bike and tried to run away, they were chased and caught. Going into the details, Angotu Vikram S/o Esu, Age: 31 Yrs, Occupation: Drilling Mission Work R/o: Opposite Rama Temple, Bayyaram, Mahabubabad District used to stay in Khammam with his parents till 2013. After that, Vikram’s parents shifted to Garla Bayyaram, so while Vikram was living in a rented house and studying for his degree, he got into the habit of playing online betting on his cell phone and lost money and went into debt. With the plan to earn money by chain snatching, settle the debts and survive by playing online betting, since last year he roamed around the area of Khammam and Mahabubabad districts on his father’s Hero Splendor Plus bike, stealing gold items from the necks of women walking alone. While going for the chain thefts, he removed the number plate of his bike without being recognized and wore a mask on his face and committed chain snatchings. So far in Mahabubabad town, one in Krishna Colony, two in Bank Colony, one in Kankara Bodu area, a total of 4, and 7 in Khammam town area. While he was coming to Mahabubabad on 18.10.2024 on his splendor bike to sell the stolen gold items to someone, he was caught by the police at Mahabubabad Aarti Gardens.
Details of seized items:
1) 22.4 tolas gold articles,
2) Hero Splendor Plus Bike,
3) Oppo Smart Phone-01 (total value Rs. 14,63,000/-) and
4) Gold items pledged in Manappuram Gold Loan is 33 grams, market value is 5.2,31,000/- (total market value of gold items is Rs.16,94,000/-)Suspect sheet and PD Act will also be placed on him and surveillance will be increased.
