Rajanna Sircilla District Police Issue Strict Guidelines for Peaceful Ganesh Navratri Celebrations
RSD_Sircilla: District Superintendent of Police Mahesh B. Githe has called upon all Ganesh mandap organizers to cooperate with the police to ensure the Ganesh Navratri festivities are conducted in a devotional and peaceful atmosphere.
Addressing a coordination meeting held at Padmanayaka Function Hall in Sircilla town with Ganesh Utsav Committee members, mandap organizers and local councillors, the SP outlined stringent regulations for this year.
He noted that last year, 8 cases were registered against those who created disturbances during immersion, and foolproof security arrangements will be made this year based on past experience.
Key Guidelines Issued:
- Mandatory Portal Registration: Every mandap organizer in the district must compulsorily register their mandap details on the Ganesh Portal–2026 at https://policeportal.tspolice.gov.in/index.htm
- No Obstruction to Public: Mandaps must be erected in a way that does not cause inconvenience to public transport and emergency vehicles.
- CCTV & Geo-tagging Compulsory: Installation of CCTV cameras at every mandap is mandatory. All mandaps will be geo-tagged. Volunteers must be available 24/7 and organizers will be fully responsible for all activities at the mandap.
- Idol Height Rule: Prior information must be given to the police if the Ganesh idol height exceeds 10 feet during arrival.
- Immersion Protocol: On immersion day, idols must go directly from the mandap to the designated immersion site. Adequate cranes will be arranged at the Maneru river bank immersion site in Sircilla.
- Total Ban on DJs: The SP clarified that there is absolutely no permission for DJs at mandaps, during Shobhayatra and on immersion day. Cases will be filed against both DJ operators and mandap organizers if violated. As per Supreme Court guidelines, only two small speakers are allowed till 10 PM.
The SP warned that cases will be registered against those consuming liquor or indulging in anti-social activities at mandaps, and against organizers who show negligence in controlling them. Police officers and Blue Colt staff will frequently visit and monitor the mandaps.
Special Watch on Social Media: The District Police will maintain special surveillance on social media posts during the festival. Criminal cases will be filed against those posting or even forwarding posts that incite hatred or disturb law and order.
