RSD- Sircilla news: The Mahalakshmi Scheme, which was directed to provide free bus travel facility for women, was launched at Dr. BR Ambedkar square in Sircilla, Arogya Sri by Collector Anurag Jayanthi who formally launched the handout scheme to be increased to Rs.10 lakhs at the Government General Hospital on 09.12.2023. The district collector unveiled the zero fare ticket, Arogya Sri logo and poster for free bus travel for women under the Mahalakshmi scheme. On this occasion he said, Rajiv Arogyasri medical assistance limit increase will be implemented in all Rajiv Arogyasri empaneled hospitals under Arogyasri. To provide medical assistance up to Rs.10 lakh per family. He said that with the important step taken by the government, free treatment up to Rs.10 lakh will be available in Arogyasri empaneled hospitals.  He said that under this scheme, 1,73,974 poor families of Rajannasiricilla district will be benefited.

He said that Mahalakshmi scheme, which is set for free travel facility for women in Palle Velugu and express RTC buses, is a good scheme for women empowerment to contribute. Especially for poor women, the financial burden of travel will be reduced. Later, District Collector Anurag Jayanthi along with women passengers traveled by RTC bus from Ambedkar square to Ragudu. Municipal Chairperson Jindam Kala Chakrapani, District Transport Officer Kondal Rao, District Medical Officer DR. A Suman Mohan Rao, District Hospital Medical Superintendent DR. Muralidhar Rao, District Hospital RMO CH Santosh, District Arogyashri Team Leader Tirupati, Sircilla Depot Manager were present in the program. N. Manohar, traffic incharge L. Saraiah, mechanical incharge AK. Khan, program officers, doctors, paramedical staff, nursing students, RTC staff and others participated.

Mahalakshmi scheme rules.

If women want to travel in buses for free.

1) Should be a woman from Telangana. Identity cards like Aadhaar, voter card, driving license should be shown to the conductors at the time of travel for locality verification.

2) Women of all ages and transgenders can use this facility.

3) Free travel anywhere within Telangana border.

4) In addition to Palle Velugu and express buses, you can travel free of charge in city ordinary and metro express buses running in Hyderabad.

5) Palle Velugu and express buses going to outside states can travel for free only up to Telangana border, then ticket has to be purchased.

6) There is no limit on the mileage of the journey.

7) A ‘zero ticket’ will be given to every female passenger.

8) Government will pay the total fare to TSRTC depending on the distance traveled by the women.

Under this scheme, the government will soon provide ‘Mahalakshmi Smart Card’ to women.
