Sajjanar RTC MD on free travelling of women in RTC buses
RSD- Telangana news: It is a safe and great scheme. Women can travel by showing any ID card from 09.12.2023. There are no limits they can go from anywhere to anywhere. Zero ticket will be issued to women passengers. The number of people traveling estimation will be known in these 4-5 days till then no one will be asked for a single penny. RTC officers were also made aware of this scheme and were asked to be humble and polite with passengers and not to cause any inconvenience to the public.
Total 7290 buses are being used for this scheme. The government has also said that it will provide fee reimbursement. Another 500 electric buses are also coming. 50 percent income will decrease with free travel of women. The management of RTC strives for the welfare of the passengers. 45 lakh people are traveling in the state. First some problems can be solved quickly. This scheme works everyday. This scheme is not applicable for those who apply for tours, pilgrimages at one time. There will be no increase in charges under this scheme
Some dues under the old government has to be recovered. Rs.7.50 crores due from Armor Jeevan Reddy needs to be recovered. After giving notices in the armor issue, some amount has been received and is yet to be received. Another 1000 electric buses and some other buses are to come in the next 2-3 months. More employees will be recruited if required under this scheme. Special buses will be run for gents where necessary. Ordinary and AC buses will also run in this scheme. Bus passes for women will not work from 09.12.2023. No reimbursement will be made.
