The CM launched the ninth phase of Harita Haram program in Maheswaram of Rangareddy district on 19th June 2023 in celebration of Telangana decade. The Telangana government has so far planted 273.33 crore saplings in accordance with the target. 19,472 rural nature forests in 13,657 acres, 2011 large nature forests in an area of 6298 acres and road forests of 100691 kilometers have been established.

The state government has also used modern technology in growing plants like drone seeding. In this innovative way, on 17 February 2020, 15 thousand seed balls were sprinkled in Veernapalli mandal of Rajannasircilla district. By this, the state has created a record of being the first state to use modern technology for reforestation.

On the call of MP Santosh Kumar, Baganga created a Guinness record of planting 10 lakh saplings on a single day on 5th July 2021 in the Green India Challenge.

For the first time, Harita Nidhi was established on 16 December 2021 for the cultivation of plants in the country. Public representatives and employees participated in this.

The Telangana government has not only planted trees but also taken steps to protect them. Trees should not be cut without permission in the state, if a tree is to be cut, permission must be taken. Walta implemented the new Municipal Act 2019 for plant conservation and enforce it strictly. Not only planting but also conservation of trees through government measures.
Green Protection Committees have been formed in villages and municipalities and the responsibility of plant protection has been entrusted to local public representatives.
