How to register in CEIR?
CEIR, a portal launched by the Union Ministry of Telecom, is very useful for tracking lost or stolen cellphones. A person who has lost a cell phone should first file a complaint at the concerned police station, or go to the Meeseva Kendra and log on to the website www.ceir.gov.in. Click on the Request for Blocking Lost/Stolen link and upload the cellphone number, IMEI number, company name, model, and bill purchased. Also, what day and where did it go? The details of the complaint should be entered in the state, district and police station. Finally the user has to give name, address, identity card, email id, another cellphone number for OTP and after all this an ID number will be given. So you can know the status of the relevant ID phone.
The District SP congratulated IT Core SI Kiran Kumar and Constable Rajathirumalesh for their efforts in recovering 84% of lost mobile phones in the district and handing them over to the victims through CEIR application. The concerned victims expressed their gratitude to the district SP and the police personnel for recovering the lost phone, which they thought would never be found again.
