Birthday celebrations of social reformer Bhagya Reddy Verma

RSD – Sircilla news: Sircilla Municipal Corporation President Jindam Kala Chakrapani was present as the Chief Guest in the birth anniversary celebrations of late Bhagya Reddy Verma organized at Sircilla Municipal Corporation Office and District Collector’s office on 22.05.2023 and said that Bhagya Reddy Varma’s life is exemplary. He fought for the upliftment of Dalits and for the abolition of Jogini Devadasi systems. He also played his part in the freedom movement on the path of Mahatma Gandhi. The first Telugu Dalit Kiranam who worked tirelessly for the upliftment of Dalits, for women’s education and for the prevention of child marriages through various social consciousness movements, was the late Bhagyareddy Varma.

Later paid tribute to Bhagya Reddy Varma. The chief guests in these programs were Nyalakonda Aruna Raghavareddy, ZP Chairperson, District Collector Anurag Jayanthi, District Library Department President Akunuri Shankaraiah, District Rythu Bandhu Samiti President Gaddam Narasiah, District Additional Collector Khimya Naik, District BC Welfare Officer Mohan Reddy as guests of honour. Municipal Commissioner Sammayya, Vice Chairman Manche Srinivas, Councilor members Darnam Aruna Lakshminarayana, Gudla Srinivas, Annaram Srinivas, Dalit leaders, government officials and staff participated and paid their respects to Bhagya Reddy Verma.

The birth anniversary of Bagya Reddy Verma, who is famous as a social reformer, was celebrated on 22.05.2023 at the district police office. District SP Akhil Mahajan speaking on this occasion, he praised Bhagya Reddy Varma as a great social reformer and Dalit warrior. He said that he was a great person who fought for the rights and equality of Dalits before independence. He said that Bhagya Reddy Varma Jayanti is being officially organized by the government. He praised him for establishing many Dalit girls’ schools in Hyderabad and providing education to thousands of students and laying solid foundations for their development. DSP Ravikumar, Administration Officer Hammadullah Khan and office staff participated in this program.
